The Board of School Directors of the Chartiers Valley School District will receive separate sealed proposals for construction and renovation of the High School at 50 Thoms Run Road in Collier Township, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, for the following Prime Contracts: 000-01 General Construction 000-02 HVAC Construction 000-03 Plumbing Construction 000-04 Electrical Construction 000-05 Automatic Temperature Controls for HVAC Systems 000-06 Hazardous Material Abatement Bids will be accepted no later than 2:30 pm, local prevailing time, Thursday, April 28, 2016 at the School District Administrative Offices, 2030 Swallow Hill Road, Pittsburgh, PA 15220, c/o Dr. Brian White, Superintendent. Promptly thereafter, bids will be publicly opened and read aloud in the Board Room within the District Office. All interested parties are invited to attend. Bid Documents and information about the project may be obtained by contacting PJ Dick at 412.287.9039 or by visiting the printer's website, Tri-State Reprographics, at the following address: www.tsrplanroom.com. Bid Documents will be available on or after 9:00 am, local prevailing time, Monday, March 28, 2016. A full set of documents will be available for viewing by appointment at the Offices of IKM Incorporated, One PPG Place Pittsburgh, PA 15222, 412-281-1337 Monday through Friday or at the offices of PJ Dick, 225 North Shore Drive, Pittsburgh, PA 15212, 412-287-9039. Owner intends to implement a separate Owner-Controlled Insurance Program (OCIP) for this Project. Propose prices "net of insurance," including Base Bid, Alternate Bids and Unit Prices, if any. Exclude costs of premium for Workers' Compensation, General Liability, and Builders Risk insurance in accordance with specified insurance provisions in the Contract Documents. Selection will be based on Bids without such insurance being provided by Contractor. Each bid must be accompanied by a proposal guaranty, a certified check, bank cashier's check, trust company treasurer's check, bid bond on the form provided and furnished by the Owner, or other form of security permitted by applicable law, in an amount of not less than ten percent (10%) of the total of the Base Bid made payable to or indemnifying the Chartiers Valley School District. In addition, submit the following with each bid: Non-Collusion Affidavit, and Qualification Questionnaire. Notice is given that the Project for which construction bids are being solicited hereby is a Project constituting public works and is subject to applicable provisions of the Pennsylvania Prevailing Wage Act, Act of August 15, 1961, P.L. 987, as amended and supplemented, and appropriate prevailing minimum wage rates as promulgated under provisions of said Act must be paid by Contractors in connection with performance of the necessary work. Corporations seeking to bid and organized under the laws of a state other than the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania must secure the appropriate certificates and authorizations permitting them to conduct business within the Commonwealth. Owner reserves the right to accept or reject any or all Bids or part thereof or items therein and to waive any informality in the bidding. Prime Bidders will be required to REGISTER with Tri-State Reprographics to receive notification of Addenda and project information updates. Registration as a Prime Bidder is automatic upon purchase of Bid Documents from Tri-State Reprographics. Notification of addenda and updates will be via e-mail. Addenda, questions and responses and other update information will be posted to the Tri-State Reprographics Plan Room site. Bidders may visit the site and examine the location and existing conditions of the proposed project by making prior arrangements with Mr. Jason Day, PJ Dick, at 412-287-9039. Scheduled Site Visits: Bidders are encouraged to visit the site to examine the location and existing conditions of the proposed project site at a PRE-BID CONFERENCE on Monday, April 4, 2016. Bidding documents will not be available at the pre-bid conference. Report to the Auditorium at the Chartiers Valley High School at 50 Thoms Run Road at 9:00 am. Questions pertaining to the content of the Bidding Documents shall be directed to Ms. Allison Wertz, IKM Incorporated, by email at awertz@ikminc.com.
